Social Media Intern (Unpaid)

Location: Remote / Salt Lake City, UT Preferred
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
Duration: Flexible (3–6 months preferred)

Position Overview

LOVELOUD is seeking a passionate, creative, and community-driven Social Media Intern to support our digital presence and help grow our online community. This internship is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, social media strategy, event promotion, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.

The Social Media Intern will work closely with the LOVELOUD team to create engaging content, track trends, and help tell the stories that drive our mission forward.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and scheduling content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and Threads

  • Support content planning for campaigns, events, and fundraising initiatives

  • Draft captions, graphics, and short-form video concepts

  • Monitor engagement and community interactions

  • Research social media trends, LGBTQ+ cultural moments, and relevant campaigns

  • Help capture and organize event content (when applicable)

  • Track analytics and report on social performance

  • Support newsletter and digital storytelling efforts as needed

Qualifications

  • Passion for LGBTQ+ advocacy, mental health, and community impact

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Creative eye for content and storytelling

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar tools is a plus

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines

  • Photography, video editing, or graphic design skills are a bonus
